Pocket Hard Drive

　米Seagate Technologyは16日(現地時間)、エベレスト山標高5,330mにおける同社製USB 2.0外付けポータブルHDDの動作を確認したを発表した。

Portable External Hard Drive

　動作が確認されたのは、容量5GBの「Pocket Hard Drive」および容量100GBの「Portable External Hard Drive」。

　登山家Jim Williams氏率いる登山隊が同製品を標高5,330mのベースキャンプに持ち込み、動作を確認したという。これまで、同製品の動作条件は標高3,050m(1万フィート)までとされていた。

　Pocket Hard Driveは、日本ではロジテックより発売されているが、Portable External Hard Driveは未発売となっている。
