　株式会社メディアクエストは、世界中でヒットしているカードゲーム「マジック：ザ・ギャザリング」の通信対戦用のモジュールと追加カードをパックにしたCD-ROM「マジック：ザ・ギャザリング デュエルズ・オブ・ザ・プレーンズウォーカーズ エキスパンション カードセット 通信対応日本語版」を8月21日に6,800円で発売する。対応OSはWindows 95/98。

　「デュエルズ・オブ・ザ・プレーンズウォーカーズ」は追加モジュールのため別途「マジック：ザ・ギャザリング完全日本語版」が必要となる。また、9月25日には本体と「デュエルズ～」をパックにした「マジック：ザ・ギャザリング オンライン エディション完全日本語版」を10,800円で発売する。

　「デュエルズ～」には通信対戦用のモジュールとして開発された“マナリンク”が搭載されており、インターネット対戦の他、LAN、モデム、シリアルケーブルによる通信対戦が可能となっている。このマナリンクは日本語に完全対応しており、10月から開設される予定の日本語サーバーなどで、日本語チャットなども利用することができる。

　また、追加カードとして“ザ・ダーク”、“レジェンズ”の約100種類が収録されている。
