3月6日(現地時間)発表

　米AMDは6日(現地時間)、同社のサーバー/ワークステーション向けCPU、デュアルコアOpteronシリーズに3モデルを追加すると発表した。

　追加されるのは8wayの「Model 885」、2wayの「Model 285」、1wayの「Model 185」で、いずれも各クラスの最上位モデルとなる。動作クロックは2.60GHz。

　Model 885と285は即日、Model 185は今後30日以内に出荷される。1,000ロット時の単価はModel 885が2,149ドル、Model 285が1,051ドル。

　同製品は米IBM、米Sun Microsystemsおよび米Hewlett-Packardが採用を表明している。
